The BQE trench
Through Williamsburg the expressway runs below street level with the shoulder narrowing to nothing in places. A car stopped in the trench cannot be reached from the neighborhood above; we come in from the expressway itself, so the exit number and your direction are the whole location. Meeker Avenue runs alongside and is where we stage.
The Williamsburg Bridge ramps
The bridge has no shoulder and the ramps at Broadway and Roebling are short. A breakdown on the span or its approach is a lane closure and it needs to be cleared quickly; tell us inbound or outbound and which ramp, and we come at it from the Brooklyn side. Broadway itself runs under the J, M and Z, so on the street below the same el rules apply — wheel-lift, not deck.
The garages under the waterfront
The towers along Kent Avenue have underground parking with clearance a flatbed cannot enter and ramps a lowered car cannot climb. A dead car in one of those garages comes out on the wheel-lift to the street, and only then onto a deck if it needs one. Tell us the building and the level; it changes what we send.
