Salt-water flooding is not a normal breakdown
Emmons Avenue and the streets off it take water in any serious storm or high tide. A car that has sat in salt water must not be started: cranking a flooded engine bends connecting rods and turns a repairable car into a replacement. Call before you try the key.
Underbody corrosion
Cars parked near the water year-round rust from underneath. Rotten subframes and seized suspension components change where a truck can safely lift from, and we plan for that out here rather than discovering it on the hook.
Belt Parkway shoulder access
The Belt runs along the whole southern edge with limited shoulder and no lighting between exits. If you are on it, stay belted in the car with hazards on and give us the nearest exit number rather than a street.
