Where do these numbers come from?
Registration counts come from the New York State DMV file for the five New York City counties, August 17, 2026 snapshot. Fuel economy comes from the EPA and DOE ratings published at FuelEconomy.gov, unaveraged, so each configuration is its own row. Recalls and complaints come from NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation. Nothing here is estimated and nothing is bought from a data vendor.
New York State DMV registration file, five New York City counties. A registration is a record in a state database, not a car on the road. The registration analysis these counts sit on top of is published in full, with its filters and its limits written out, at the most popular cars in NYC, and the method behind it is at how we counted.
Why is my car not here?
The directory is deep rather than complete: it covers the vehicles that make up a quarter of New York City's registered fleet rather than every car ever sold. A vehicle without a page is not a vehicle the shop cannot work on. It also does not mean the car is rare, only that it is further down the city's registration list than the ones published so far.
Whatever you drive, we work on it.
The directory is a reference. The shop is at 619 Coney Island Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11218, family owned since 1977, and the flatbed that brings a car in is ours too.
